But let's come to the reason of this blog: my book Fallen
There happened a lot of things since my last blogg (of course, I finished the book).
So Luce is just a seventeen year old girl, no that's not true, she was a normal girl till this thing happened with Trevor. (you never get informed what happened, only that something bad happened and that there was fire)
Now she is in this institution, they might call it a school but Luce knows it really is not. It feels like she really is dangerous for other people with all the cameras watching her all of the time.
Luce is feeling awful. Her house is only a few kilometres away and she has to stay in this awful school. There is only one gleam of hope, it is the guy called Daniel Grigori.
When Luce sees him for the very first time in her life, he seems familiar and well-known to her. But that just can't be! (ohh yes, we all know what will happen in the end of this book)
She really is attracted to him, even though he is not nice to her and blocks all her ouvertures.
I mean "nice" is not the best explanation I think. He is always whispering with a beautiful girl called Gabbe. Yes Luce is very jealous.
So on her first day Luce has to swim. in a swimming pool. in a church. But she gets distracted by Daniel, afterwards he takes her to a lake to discuss things and he tells her, that he doesn't want a relationship because he got once burned because of a girl.
(wow, that's so sweet, if I would be Luce I would definitely not believe it)
And the other guy, called Cam, he is so nice to her. (He really is! He bought her a necklace, is always there if she needs him and always has a compliment for her.)
Just Mr Perfect, but next to Daniel he is nothing.
So Luce starts to get more information about Daniel in the library with her new friend Penn. (stalking)
But suddenly there's a fire in the library and Luce is so perplex because the situation is nearly the same as it was, when Trevor died.
She made it out of the library but Todd didn't.
In the hospital Gabbe tells Luce that Daniel saved her from the fire. (surprise, surprise)
Whatever, back in school Cam and Daniel start to fight because of her!
And if
all this weren't enough to worry about, Luce can see shadows.
She
always saw them, but since she is in this “school” they changed,
the shadows got very evil and aggressive.
Since
there is a second book of Fallen, it is not a spoiler to say that
Luce survives the first book. And of course the half people in this
“school” are … surprise, surprise … Fallen Angels. But there
is not only one kind of Fallen Angels. Daniel is one of the good
ones, but Cam is part of the evil Angels. So there is not only the
battle about Luce between the two of them, but also the big and never
ending battle between good and evil.
So there are perfect makings for
a love story à la Rubinrot, Twilight, House of Night, the demon trappers and so on. But you know I love those stories! ;)
